Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.

Volunteers are the life blood of foodbanks. Your skills could be just what we need.

Volunteers are the driving force behind foodbanks. There are over 40,000 thousand volunteers across the UK, helping The Trussell Trust Foodbank Network get emergency food to people in crisis. We want you to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis. In fact by volunteering with us you will be joining an army of friendly volunteers of all abilities and you would be made very welcome.

Volunteers work in our Distribution Centres in Forfar, Arbroath and Montrose where they meet clients and give out food parcels. Have an informal chat with clients over a cup of tea, to discuss their situation and signpost to further support if necessary. Every day is different at a Foodbank Centre and it is such a blessing giving out food to those in need.

We need volunteers to help at supermarket collections which are one of our most important sources for receiving donations of food .It simply entails handing out  shopping lists to customers as they arrive asking them to donate something from the shopping list, then receiving and sorting the donations.
